Hostels are by far the best accommodation while you’re traveling. While you are working some places provide accommodation included, or charge a small fee. If accommodation is not included hostels are your cheapest option as they provide discounts for extended stay, as well as free/ discounted meals.
Meet Other Backpackers!
Hostels are not only a cheaper option but they allow you to meet other travellers on working holidays from all over the world. Hostels provide shared dorm rooms and usually include a kitchen and common areas so you’re sure to meet a ton of people at them. A great ice breaker is sharing a bag of goon! (Goon is a boxed wine really popular with backpackers in Australia). You must try it while you’re in traveling in Australia.
Where to Book!
Some really easy to use sites for booking accomodation are Hostel World, Expedia and Air Bnb. You can book before you travel or book once you are overseas. There are desktop and mobile verisions of the booking sites so it makes it really easy to book on the go!
