As a Canadian citizen, in order to work in Australia you will need to apply first for a working holiday visa (Subclass 417).Canadians between the ages of 18-30 are eligible to apply, as long as they do not have a child dependant accompanying them at any time during their stay. They need to show health coverage for the length of their stay. They must have a minimum of $5000 in their bank account. Visas typically take between 18-36 days to process. Second Year Visa Info

Canadians that have completed 3 months of farm work in certain regions are eligible to apply for a second year working holiday visa, once their first year working holiday visa is complete.
